Many Lloyds Banking Group and Starling Bank card holders who are concerned about the contactless spending limit rising from £45 to £100 from 15 October will be able to set their own cap from the same date. If you’re not with these banks, most card providers will also either let you turn off contactless completely or they’ll send you a non-contactless card to use instead. Here’s what’s happening.
