Santander launches new ‘Edge’ current account paying 1% cashback on household bills and supermarket spend – here’s our take on if it is worth it

Santander has launched its new ‘Edge’ current account, replacing the popular 123 Lite account that is no longer available to new customers. Edge comes with a linked savings account paying 4% interest on up to £4,000 and gives 1% cashback on household bills, plus supermarket and travel spending. But it is not as generous as its predecessor.
