Energy bills will be capped at £2,500 a year for a typical household from 1 October for the next two winters, the Prime Minister Liz Truss has announced. A £400 energy rebate will also continue to be paid as planned from October, while those who’ve fixed will have the option to drop down onto the new cap penalty-free.
